A friend once remarked – No amount of reasoning has ever changed how you feel, it’s only justified or left with echoes of chaos!
Well, what i think she might have really meant was, No amount of reasoning has ever changed how you feel ‘About Something’. That ‘something’ is just one of many other ‘somethings’, and how you feel is merely a reflection of what ‘something’ you choose to focus on. A believer in the powers of the brain to multitask (and perhaps a mathematician) would say that, ‘how i feel’ is a union set of various ‘how i feel about something’ subsets with requisite corrections done by attaching a weight to each of those subsets.
It’s like saying that every ‘something’ speaks to you, and you have the volume control for each and everyone of them. So it is entirely up to you as to how much loud that ‘something’ sounds, that is, how you set your priorities.
But in the loudness, you often tend to forget that you still have the control, and that once set to a higher volume (read priority) it is still changeable! You try to wish it away, sometimes even try to hear it out so that it would then run out of things to say, and shut up, but mostly, it does not. For it just craves your attention, and it likes to keep it for as long as you are willing to give. So it can be an angel or a parasite, and you would just keep on listening with a hope of seeing the light at the end of tunnel.
Keep it simple silly, just use the remote!
